Club member Erich Weidenhammer and Victoria Fisher have a new article published in Scientia Canadensis titled Artifacts and Opportunity: Science and Technology Collections in Canada. They explore dozens of small collections of artifacts that exist across the country, from museums to university cupboards, and argue that these collections form a “largely untapped record” of Canadian history. Such artifacts can provide insight into scientific and technical practice, innovation and labour that might not be gained through the study of texts alone.
