The Toronto Medical Historical Club was formed the evening of January 24, 1924 by a small group of doctors who shared an interest in the history of medicine. Originally, meetings were held in the homes of members; the host presented a paper and provided refreshments. Thus, membership was limited to the number of people who could be accommodated in a living room.
Over time, our club has evolved to welcome historians, allied healthcare professionals, students and many others with an interest in medical history. We meet regularly to hear papers given by members and invited guests.
We welcome anyone who is interested in medical history and willing to participate in our community. The annual fee is $50 for regular members and free for student members.
